When we first sarted this project, we were led to believe that all our client needed was a website, as they already had a logo. Unfortunately, our art director, pointed out that their logo looked eerily similar to various stock images.
So, to give our client a recognizable and distinct brand identity, we decided to create a new logo for them.
Old Logo
New Logo
This is the final logo our client chose, designed by our teammate, Lindsey Beans-Polk
Our client for this project asked us to create a website for their cultural museum in Erie PA. However, due to the situation regarding the logo. we had quite the crunch time for the website. But everything turned out all right in the end, as you can see here!
This museum might have the longest name I’ve ever had to work with, and it was an interesting challenge. With a total of 10 words and 63 letters, designing a new logo with a good lockup in a legible format was certainly a design challenge. However, we were able to create a series of great deliverables that can be viewed on the website that’s live right now!
Once we finally had the structure and bones of the site set up, I was in charge of image treatment. We wanted the photos not to distract from the website, but to enhance the experience.
Each page was given it’s own color corresponding to the colors of the logo, so it could have a sense of unity, while still being colorful and inviting.
Although the logo change cause a halt in our website design, I believe that redesigning the logo helped us create a more unique brand identity for our clients, and ultimately lead to a better end result!
